The Graduate Division

The Graduate Division encompasses all post-baccalaureate advanced degree programs at the University of California, Merced (UC Merced) and all graduate students. The Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Education, Hrant P. Hrantchian (Graduate Dean) is responsible for the administration of graduate study at UC Merced in accordance with academic policies established by the Academic Senate via the Graduate Council and is the academic dean of all graduate students at UC Merced.


The Graduate Division serves as the campus-wide advocate for the advancement of graduate education and strives for standards of excellence, fairness, and equity in all graduate programs at UC Merced.

Graduate Recruitment & retention Unit Overview



The R&R unit is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing ongoing outreach, recruitment, and retention initiatives in collaboration with graduate faculty, staff, and partners across campus to ensure a suitable pool of diverse and talented applicants to our graduate programs.

Your Role

Your role as Graduate Recruitment Specialist entails providing support to the team. Your daily duties include:

  • Managing Grad Inquiry Form & Grad Recruitment Email outreach
  • Taking lead on DOs and grad fair registrations
  • Implementing social media strategy
  • Special projects as assigned
